Guerilla Queerfare

Ever heard of guerilla queerfare/gayfare?

I found a group that does it in St. John's, where I'll be moving in a few weeks, and I'm totally excited to check it out.

My own definition of queerfare would be "a travelling gay bar." There is only one real gay bar in St. John's, and this group chooses different "straight" bars now and then to hang out at. People who are part of the group wear something of a certain colour that night so it's relatively easy to tell who's there as part of queerfare and who isn't.

The next St. John's event will be sometime during pride week, but you'll have to join the group to find out more!

Groups like this exist in a bunch of other cities, too, so if you're not in St. John's, you may still be able to take part in the fun.
